Diana Pizzuti Promoted

On October 1, 2016, NYWLE founding member, past president, and current board member Diana Pizzuti was promoted to Chief of Personnel for the New York Police Department.  The ceremony took place at One Police Plaza where NYPD Commissioner James P. O'Neill appointed Chief Pizzuti to the three-star rank of Bureau Chief. 

Chief Pizzuti joined the NYPD in January 1982 and began her career on patrol in the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx. She served as the Executive Officer of the 13th Precinct as well as Commanding Officer of the Police Academy, 17th Precinct, Midtown North Precinct and the Corruption Prevention Division of the Internal Affairs Bureau. Her latest assignment was the Commanding Officer of the Patrol Borough Queens North as an Assistant Chief.  Juanita Holmes, who was also promoted at the ceremony from Deputy Chief to Assistant Chief, will now take over as the Commanding Officer in Patrol Borough Queens North.

In September, American Military University is offering a webinar at no cost to law enforcement professionals: Drone Threats to Secure Facilities and Law Enforcement Officers This free webinar will take place on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 1:00-2:00pm.

Join AMU for a 60-minute webinar examining the overall threat of drones (UAVs) to secure facilities as well as to law enforcement personnel. Participants will learn about recent cases where drones have threatened secure facilities and compromised the activities of police. Kimberley Diniz Promoted to Sergeant

Congratulations to NYWLE Member Kimberley Diniz of the New Rochelle Police Department. On August 26, 2016, Kimberley was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.  Kimberley has served with the New Rochelle Police Department since 2008 and has a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University. She is also a Field Training Officer, has received five commendations, and she is trained in the Project Life Saver program (read more about Project Life Saver here). 

Inside of her patrol hat, Kimberley keeps a photograph of her mother, Isabel, who has been a driving force in Kimberley's motivation to be successful. 

Additionally, Sergeant Justin Wilson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and Police Officer Francis Flanigan was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. The Town of New Rochelle employs approximately 186 sworn police officers and covers an area of 13.2 miles with a population of around 80,000 people.
