Where is the conference being held?
All events are being held at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Saratoga Springs located at 86 Congress Street, Saratoga Springs, New York (www.saratogasprings.embassysuites.com). The Embassy Suites has 149 guest suites which offer a private bedroom and a separate living area with sofa bed. The suites contain wet bar, refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker. The Embassy Suites offers a free made-to-order breakfast for those guests staying at the hotel, as well as a cocktail reception with light snacks in the bar area every evening. In addition, they have a small indoor pool and fitness center.
How do I make my lodging reservations?
Lodging arrangements must be made directly with the Embassy Suites by Hilton Saratoga Springs by calling 518-290-9090. (Mention that you are attending the NYWLE conference, group block “LAW” to receive the special conference rate of $120.00 per night.) You must make your reservations by September 26th 2016 to be guaranteed availability at our special rate. There will be a limited number of rooms available at the special rate for attendees who wish to arrive early or extend their stay at the Embassy Suites. We suggest you make reservations early to ensure availability. If you represent a tax exempt organization, be sure to bring the necessary form for check in. If you are paying for lodging with a Purchase Order, please contact the Embassy Suites directly ahead of time. They need time to process the PO and cannot accept a PO the day you arrive.
How much is registration and what does it include?
Registration cost will be as follows: $175 for NYWLE Members / $225 for Non-Members

Breaks during conference
What should I wear?
Attire for the training sessions is business casual. We are asking that all uniformed personnel bring one uniform for a photograph to be taken on the first day of the conference. There is a safe located within each guest room to store weapons and other valuables. Attire for the Banquet on Thursday evening is semi-formal. Please bring fitness attire so you can participate in optional fitness activities.
Are there any other events I might want to attend?
There will be an optional golf event on Tuesday afternoon at the Saratoga Spa State Park Golf Course located about 3 miles from our conference location. Tee time is 2:00 p.m. It will be a 9-hole best ball scramble event for golfers (and non-golfers) of all abilities with prizes awarded in different categories! The cost is $35 per person for golf and cart. If you wish to participate, please indicate so when you complete the RegOnline registration form.
Is there anything happening during registration?
St. Peter’s Hospital will be offering free health screenings on Wednesday morning. Arrive early for conference registration and take advantage of this great opportunity. Screenings will include lipid profile (cholesterol & glucose), blood pressure and pulmonary function testing. With a simple pin prick then a short wait you will review your results with a health care professional on site. There will also be opportunity to visit vendor tables during registration.
What else is there to do in the area?
The Embassy Suites is located in the heart of Saratoga Springs and is within walking distance to many great shops and restaurants. Additionally, there are many museums, spas and points of interest in the area. A few include: Tang Teaching Museum, Roosevelt Baths and Spa, Yaddo Gardens, Saratoga Casino and Raceway, National Museum of Dance, National Museum of Racing, Saratoga Automobile Museum, and Saratoga National Historic Park and Battlefield.
Will there be a community service event this year at the conference?
Yes – In conjunction with our conference, we will continue our tradition of providing assistance to the community and will be partnering this year with SOS (Shelters of Saratoga) www.sheltersofsaratoga.org. They assist individuals who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness by offering a path to self-sufficiency and helping these individuals to get back on their feet through: case management services, service referrals and resources, positive social interaction and accountability. Their scope of services includes emergency shelter, outreach, drop-in centers, case managed shelter, youth services and affordable housing. Shelters of Saratoga’s mission is to provide individuals with safe shelter, supportive services and sustainable strategies to end homelessness in the Greater Saratoga region. Code Blue www.codebluesaratoga.org is one of the many programs SOS provides. It is an emergency shelter serving individuals who are homeless who might otherwise remain unsheltered during periods of extreme winter weather between November 15 and March 15.
Code Blue is in need of many items to help stock the shelter however the items listed below were in most need last year. NYWLE will be collecting your donated items during conference registration.

- Men’s boxer/brief variety of sizes
- Men’s jeans 30/30 & 34/34 (most popular sizes)
- Thermal lined jeans
- Thermal long underwear (all sizes)
- Wool socks
- Black socks (white ones just get too dirty even when washed)
- Winter boots sizes 10, 11, 12 and 13 (sizes requested the most)
- Men’s Winter gloves
- Hand, toe and body warmers
- Ensure protein drinks
- Individually wrapped snacks – Sweet & Salty, granola bars, Slim Jims, snack packs of crackers (Peanut Butter & Cheese)
- Any lightly used winter jackets, boots and clothing are accepted, the items do not have to be new
What if I can’t stay for the whole conference?
To attend any of the training sessions, you must register for the entire conference. There are no daily rates for attendance.
How do I register for the conference?
