New York Women in Law Enforcement (NYWLE) was founded to build a stronger, more inclusive law enforcement community by providing opportunities for women and men to enhance their professional and personal development.

Membership is open to women and men who are active or retired law enforcement officers, employed in criminal justice agencies, or preparing for careers in the field.

We have four regions across the state. Your agency or organization’s location will determine your assignment to a region.  Each region has a regional representative who occasionally reaches out to the members to plan events with the community, with the members planning our annual training conference and much more.

  1. Capital Region: Franklin, Clinton, Hamilton, Essex, Fulton, Montgomery, Warren, Washington, Schenectady, Rensselaer, Schoharie, Columbia, Albany, Saratoga, and Greene
  2. Central Region: St. Lawrence, Jefferson, Lewis, Herkimer, Otsego, Delaware, Broome, Chenango, Madison, Oneida, Oswego, Onondaga, Cortland, Tompkins, and Tioga
  3. Southern Region: Dutchess, Nassau, New York City (all 5 counties, Bronx, Kings, Queens, Richmond, and New York), Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Suffolk, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester
  4. Western Regions: Cayuga, Wayne, Seneca, Schuyler, Chemung, Steuben, Yates, Ontario, Monroe, Livingston, Allegany, Wyoming, Genesee, Orleans, Niagara, Erie, Cattaraugus, and Chautauqua
