Diana Pizzuti served in the New York City Police Department for 36 years, 26 at the executive level, before her retirement in 2018 as Chief of Personnel. Her police career includes varied assignments in patrol, internal investigations, training and administration. She commanded the Personnel Bureau, one of the city’s eight patrol boroughs, two Manhattan precincts, the Police Academy, and a division of the Internal Affairs Bureau.
Diana Pizzuti is a past President of New York Women in Law Enforcement and part of its original Board of Directors. She was a founding member and participant paddler on the NYWLE now NYPD Dragon Boat Team, which won gold at the 2015 World Police and Fire Games.
Pizzuti holds a Master of Arts degree in Education from Seton Hall University with certificates in Leadership and Management, and Human Resources Training and Development; and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. She taught Graduate Studies as an Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall University.
