Sergeant Chelsea Giovo is a 10-year veteran of the Oswego City Police Department. She began her career in Patrol, where she was named Police Officer of the Year in 2017 and received the Traffic Safety Award. Prior to her promotion to Sergeant in September 2025, Giovo served as an Investigator in the Criminal Investigation Division and the Community Outreach & Administrative Division, was assigned to the Oswego County Drug Task Force as a Narcotics Investigator, and served as a full-time instructor for Class 25-1 at the Oswego County Regional Police Academy.
Additionally, Giovo leads OPD’s 30×30 Initiative to advance the recruitment and retention of women in law enforcement. She is a member of the SUNY Oswego Alumni Board of Directors, the New York Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run Committee, and currently serves as the 2nd Vice President of New York Women in Law Enforcement.
